Special Trains Ok But No Pooja In Railways

South Central Railways CPRO K.Sambasiva Rao said that the incidents of performing pooja in the railway bogies came to the notice of the authorities in which camphor lit arti have taken place which are very dangerous and highly objectionable. He said that the passengers are not to resort to lighting camphor and incense sticks in the bogies that may cause loss to the lives and railways and private properties.

We Indians are still mixing our customs with modernization. We use saffron kumkum and turmeric to apply, flowers to decorate and burn camphor to burn evil, light oil lamps to illuminate and burn incense sticks to create a sacred ambience and break a coconut to ward off evil spirit or to offer it to deity as prasadam. All these are done to newly acquired electronic gadgets too like a TV or a laptop computer that are dust allergic and vehicles that run with fuel.

Eight Superfast AC trains are pressed to service by the South Central Railways between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam to facilitate the extra travelers due to the pilgrimage to Sabarimalai Ayyappa Swamy during the season.

The special trains will run from Secunderabad on 6, 13, 20 and 27 starting from Secunderabad at 10.10 pm to reach Vizag next day at 10.35 am. Similarly the special trains will start from Visakhapatnam on 7, 20, 21, and 28 at 7.05 pm and reach Secunderabad at 7.50 am next day.
