Countrywide Lok Adalats Successful

For the first time the Indian courts have conducted Lok Adalats in the country in all the courts including Supreme court. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India P.Sathasivam inaugurated the program in the morning which was relayed to all courts in India through videoconference and web media. 

The program is taken as a prestigious one at the State level also.  High Court Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta, Exective Chairperson Justice G.Rohini, High Court Legal Services Committee Chairman Justice L. Narasimha Reddy have already talked to district judges on Thursday through video conference and gave them suggestions and advices.

Justice Rohini started Lok Adalat at Nampalli Courts after the Supreme Court inauguration is over.  1.66 lakhs of cases were recognized statewide out of which notices were served in 1.50 lakhs cases.  3250 cases are to be taken up at the Hyderabad Nampalli Courts Adalat.

Salient features are, one, the complainants can attend even if they do not have a lawyer to legally represent them and two, once a verdict is given in a case in the Lok Adalat, it cannot be challenged in any other court.

Bar Association has arranged food packets to the appellants in today’s Lok Adalat at Nampalli Courts.

Justice Rohini said that fast settlements of cases will be done saving legal expenses from both sides.  It is also said that the Lok Adalats are opened for the benefit of the disputes come up due to small differences and they become big cases to fight in the courts of law because of the egos and prestige issues involved in them.  For such type of case, Justice Rohini said, the Lok Adalat will be a convenient platform to settle them amicably, quickly and without costs.

A total of 19 benches were opened in Nampally Court for Lok Adalats for which good response is witnessed.
