Dividing State With Political Motive Is Wrong- Mamata

Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday when YSR Congress Party President met her that she agrees that dividing a State with political motive is not proper.   She later tweeted that she has good relations with Jagan and his family members.

In the press conference at Howrah followed by the meeting of Jagan and Mamata Banerjee, Jagan said that Center cannot divide a State at its whims and fancies.  He demanded an amendment to Article 3 of the Constitution that empowers Center to form a new State and alter boundaries or change the names of the existing States.  He expressed his opinion that no Government in Delhi should be given the power to arbitrarily divide a State.

Mamata Banerjee ascertained her party Trinamool Congress’s policy that the people of State should be taken into confidence.  If they want a division then it should be done but first consensus should be evolved.  She opined that the issue should have been taken differently instead of taking the path the Government has taken now.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Kolkata was successful that way as he was received well and he was given the word he wanted from Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee.
