The Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was served notice by the Election Commissioner responding on the complaint of the Congress party that he called the party's symbol hand as 'Khooni Panja'.
The election symbol allotted to the Congress party is called by Narendra Modi as ‘Khooni Panja’- murderous hand in his election campaign in the State of Chhattisgarh.
The Election Commission took it as a violation of election code of conduct and sent notices to explain before 5.00 pm on 16th November why action should not be initiated for his remark on the poll symbol allotted by the EC.
EC also says that if the reply is not received before the stipulated time it will be taken as if there is nothing to say from Modi’s side and appropriate action will be initiated. The EC has watched the video clipping of Modi’s speech at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh before sending the notice.
