High Court to Hold Promotions of Teachers from Deemed Universities

The High Court of AP ordered the Department of Education not to go on with fresh promotion to the Teachers who have degrees from Deemed Universities.  The judgment was given on Friday in response to the petition filed by teachers contentious of the promotions on the basis of Degrees from Deemeed Universities.

But the High Court asks the Department of Education not to revert the teachers already given promotions. That means the state of teachers’ promotion in respect of the ones who obtained Degrees from Deemed Universities are to be stayed as it is at present now.

Deemed Universities in the State are, 1. Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), Visakhapatnam, 2. International Institute of Information Technology, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, 3.Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupati, 4.Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prashanthinilayam, 5.ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education Hyderabad, 6. Vignan’s Foundation for Sciences, Guntur and 7.Koneru Lakshmaih Education Foundation, Guntur.

The above Institutions were declared as the Deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grant Commission of India 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development on 23rd June, 2008.
