In majority of the case the incidents of rape proved that it is the innocent following of a known person by the girl that made her prey for the assaults against her will.

A 14 year old girl from Chigurukota village in Gudivada Rural area was picked up by an auto rickshaw driver Venkateswara Rao (21) when she was at a grocery shop, luring her with a free ride to her house. He was accompanied by another friend of him. Both of them took the girl to an abandoned place in the auto to rape her. As per the version of the girl, the other one kept vigil while Venkateswara Rao was raping her. But as promised by them they dropped her at her house.

By seeing her state and crying inconsolably her parents questioned her and came to know of what has happened and by that time the duo flew from there.  The girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police who are searching for the accused.  It happened at 4 pm on Monday.

As in the cases of rape like the above majority of the incidents reveal that blindly trusting a known person is making girls vulnerable for the crime, police say that the parents and guardians should keep a vigil on the movements of the girls and also educate them not to trust any even if the person is a known one and not to go out with them without the knowledge of the elders.
