Bathukamma festival with decoration of flowers by womenfolk is a special festival for Telangana people. It also assumed importance to make them happier this time as the decision on Telangana statehood made another positive step.
Although it starts from Friday, Kukatpalli residents in Hyderabad started on Thursday as the custom followed by them.
Women wearing their best carrying different flowers placed neatly in a decorative manner in a container and come out carrying them on their heads to join others on the way go together to a common place to place them there and then sing and dance.
