Tirupati Bandh Exempts Tirumala

Tiruamala the abode of Lord Venkateswara is exempted from the 2 days Tirupati Bandh for Samaikyandhra.   This decision was taken by the Bandh organizers heeding to the requests from the TTD Employees Union.

As a result total bandh will be observed in Tirupati town but the activity of pilgrimage will not be disturbed to Tirumala hills from Alipiri.  The pilgrims who reach by air, by train or by own vehicles can reach Alipiri to go to Tirumala.  Bus service is available between Alipiri and Tirumala.

But all buses including private ones and other vehicles like cabs and autos are not going to take the roads for these two days.  Different routes from the airport, railway station and Bangalore road to Alipiri are left free for the devotees to visit Tirumala to get the Lord’s blessings.

Some of the devotees say that it is good at last that the wisdom dawned upon them that they should not come between God and devotee.  Tirumala visited by at leaset 70000 devotees every day has come down considerably in the number of visitors off late because of the Samaikyandra protests at Tirupati.
