TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's plans for his Aatma Gouravam yatra may face troubles with Nandamuri Harikrishna's recent stand on Samaikhyandhra. Harikrishna will begin his own ChaitanyaYatra in Rayalseema on the same chariot that the late NTR used before being elected.
The Rajya Sabha MP's surprise stand on United Andhra as opposed to just justice for all sections put TDP members in a tizzy over future plans. Where others simply protested, Harikrishna made himself quite clear. This has cast doubts on the viability of Naidu's upcoming yatra scheduled to start on 25th August from Vizianagaram.
While Naidu is trying to disassociate himself from Congress, Harikrishna has made an even stronger point on support for a United Andhra. Naidu is said to be on a damage control mission as he had appeared to have sided with the congress over the bifurcation issue. He wants to unveil the 'match fixing' games of congress, while bringing himself closer to the Seemandhra parties at the same time.
However, Naidu is said to be hesitant over his timing as Harikrishna's resignation shows him in a poor light. Already, the APNGOs Association came out in protest against Chandrababu for his consent towards formation of Telangana. They have threatened to disrupt his yatra.
