Laljan Basha, Vice President of Telugu Desam Party, Chairman for Mercantile Bank at Mumbai met with an accident at Narkatpalli, Nalgonda District. The car in which Laljan Basha was travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle. 

Laljan Basha worked for TDP as its MP in Rajya Sabha. He defeated NG Ranga in Parliamentary elections in 1991.

Telugu Desam Party President Chandra Babu Naidu expressed shock and grief for the untimely death of Basha who, Chandra Babu said was a man of discipline and it is a great loss to the party.

Telugu Desam party leaders shocked on hearing the news and dashing to the place of the accident. Hari Krishna, Devender Gowd, Bojjala, Talasani Peddireddy and other TDP leaders expressed condolences.

TDP  leaders paid tributes to Lal Jan Bash at NTR Trust Bhavan Hyderabad.
