By-elections for the 15 Assembly Constituencies as the vacancies created due to the recent cancellation of the Memberships of 15 MLAs by the Speaker Nadendla Manohar is denied by the Chief Election Commissioner V.S.Sampath.  

The CEC visited Hyderabad to attend a book release function talked to the media persons on Sunday.  He said that a lot of work is involved to conduct elections such as- revision of electoral rolls, rationalization of polling stations, training of the election staff etc.   At present, he said, this type of preparatory work is going on at Delhi, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan that are due in November and December.  The election schedule in the State of AP is still to be reckoned and will be announced at an appropriate time.  

But, the CEC says, the by-elections at 15 Assembly constituencies are ruled out as the time left for the general elections in the State is less than one year that obviates a need to hold elections in the State.
