HC issues notice to Kiran Kumar Reddy and govt

On Tuesday, after a petition against Kiran Kumar Reddy and the state government run by him, the AP high court has sent notices to the Chief Minister and the state government seeking an explanation for the rejection of the rejection letter of Dharmana Prasada Rao, a member of the state cabinet who was chargesheeted by the CBI in the Vanpic case.

OM Debora the petitioner was keen to expose the unlawful stance of the state government and Kiran Kumar Reddy by allowing a tainted Dharmana to continue in the state government without accepting his resignation letter.

Both the state and the CM received notices from the division bench, justice G Rohini and justice P Naveen Kumar, which made it mandatory that they file their counters. Further hearing of the case was pushed to June 5.

This is a major development since the CM will not only give in writing why he hasn't accepted the resignation of Dharmana but he has to have the answers to a few other critical questions. It is necessary for him to answer why the state had not filed its counter in the CBI cases ever since the high court began hearing the Jagan assets cases. Further, it also needs to explain the 26 GOs that were issued by the YSR regime.

Supreme court had given notices to 6 ministers and 8 other bureaucrats in connection with the 26 GOs.

In another case, one of the petitioners asked that the high court monitor the development of the Jagan CBI case but the court dismissed the plea stating that the petitioner couldn't give any extraordinary reasons as to why the case should be monitored.
