Aadhaar card blues are continuing to hit headlines. After creating panic among people with the new rule linking Aadhaar number to subsidized gas, which is coming into effect soon, people are now receiving apparently biggest shock on getting to know the need for re-enrolling for Aadhaar cards.

Scores of people have enrolled for Aadhaar cards in the first phase before April 2012 and only a few amongst them have received their cards. Many are still waiting and trying to track their cards but to no avail. Now the unique identification authority officials have said that the data of first phase could not be retrieved and said that those who enrolled in the first phase need to re-enroll again.

It looks like unique identification number is also presumably becoming one of the reasons for narrowing Congress party's scope of retaining its power in 2014.
