Tension atmosphere is prevailing at Mahabubnagar district jail where TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram, TRS MLAs Eetala Rajender and Juppally are under judicial custody. A large number of Telangana activists have gathered outside the gate. In fact, it was even reported that Telangana activists broke open jail gates and barged into the jail premises wherein Kodandaram and other leaders waved at the crowd.
Meanwhile, noted educationist and MLC Chukka Ramaiah and other senior journalists have met Kodandaram and team at the jail. Chukka Ramaiah has thanked the government for arresting TJAC leaders. He said that government was helping in spreading the movement. The more you repress the movement, the more it will spread, he opined. He even cited the ball and said that the ball bounces with double force when you hit against the ground.
All in all, Sadak Bandh, although was not as successful as Sagara Haram on Necklace Road, managed to gain enough attention and sympathy from people in Telangana region with non-bailable cases against TJAC leaders and legislators. Above all, the arrests were condemned by people like Jaya Prakash Narayana in the legislative assembly, which apparently put Congress in a fix.
