Andhra budget: Governor addresses in Telugu

The state budget sessions have started today with the customary address by Governor ESL Narasimhan to the joint sitting (legislative assembly and legislative council). This is perhaps for the first time wherein Governor made a speech in Telugu. Mentioning about the goal of the government, Narasimhan has said that the motive of the government was to ensure that welfare activities reach every nook and corner of the state.  He has also hailed the SC,ST sub-plan.

Governor has also mentioned about Neelam cyclone and said that crop was damaged to a great extent due to cyclone Neelam. Commenting on terrorism, Narasimhan said the Government would not spare anyone who indulges in terrorist and disruptive activities. To make people get a feeling that Hyderabad is a secured place, cc cameras would be set up across the city, he added.

Since these are budget sessions, too many issues are likely to be escalated by the opposition parties. While TRS said it would move no confidence motion, the other opposition parties such as BJP and CPI are also likely to support the same. TDP, however, said it would not support the no confidence that will be moved by TRS. Nonetheless, the party leaders presumably mentioned that TDP knew when and on which subject it should move the no confidence motion. All in all, with so many difference amongst opposition parties itself, current budget sessions turned undoubtedly interesting not just to the observers in the state but across the country. Andhra Wishesh will bring in more updates, stay glued to this site!
