After the bomb blasts in Dilsukhnagar that killed 17 innocent people while injuring several others on Feb 21, the security has been upped greatly to notice any suspicious activity to nab the terrorists. With the Intelligence Bureau notifying the state police forces that there could be more terrorist activity in the 48 hrs, the security checks have been taken up to a frenetic level.
All big areas in the city have hundreds of police stopping vehicles and asking them to turn open all packages or bags they were carrying to ensure no stone laid unturned. Even at traffic junctions, civil police occasionally stopped vehicles in Red signals as they checked vehicles. No vehicles were left unchecked at the signals.
People are already on their toes trying their best to reach the destinations in time with all the alerts scaring the last out of them. With the Mahasivaratri in view, there could be more terrorist activities the IB suggested since the terrorist activities were anti-communal in nature majorly. Any functions required permission from the police, even audio releases from the film makers. police were aware of the presence of the sleeper cells of the terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen and necessary measures are being taken to flush them out.
All major and vulnerable areas like the Osmania hospital, Gandhi Hospial, Secretariat etc which have a lot of people around them at all times have been thoroughly checked. Strict vigil hopfully will keep the terrorists at a bay.
