Dilsukhnagar blasts were an unfortunate event, not just because there were several lives lost but also because it happened due to a security lapse on the part of the enforcers. The alerts from the central intelligence agencies were ignored by the police and the blasts couldn't be averted. This has drawn the ire of the central government. The axe dangles close to the necks of the top cops of police.
17 innocent lives due to a security lapse is unpardonable. AP CM Kiran Kumar Reddy was forced to handover the case to the National Investigating Agency NIA to prevent such lapses in the future regarding the case. This is a shameful news for the State police forces.
Though the state police forces pressed that they would continue the investigations parallelly, the center has asked them to surrender every thing to the NIA. CM along with home minister Sabita Indra Reddy and other officials has made this final decision but asked the police to be helpful in the investigation whenever needed.
What is worrisome for the state police is that Kiran Kumar is also looking at the second suggestion of the Central government, revamping the State Police forces which would bring the top cops in the state departments under the axe. While it is not sure if they would be given the axe or not, there could be a big chance of major transfers like city police commissioner Anurag Sharma and Cyberabad commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. DCPs and ACPs are also under the threat. Investigations under the NIA have been expedited to nab the terrorists at all costs.
