Hyderabad Blasts: Police share information with terrorists, unknowingly

This could have been the biggest security lapse in the Hyderabad Bomb blast incident that shook the state on Feb 21 this year. An embarrassment to the police of Andhra Pradesh, they were fooled by an ISI agent Tasleem who called them while impersonating the Indian Army officer to find out about the details of the blast. The police who failed to follow protocols have given away some crucial information at that point of time.

As reported by a TV channel, only a few minutes after the blast, ISI agent Tasleem called the ACP of Andhra Police as an Indian Army Officer to find details about the blast. Later he also called an NSG to find about a VIP movement. The unsuspecting officer told the operative that one officer had passed only minutes before the blast.

It was learnt that he called from Delhi SIM cards for both the officers. Soon after the police learnt thir mistake the Internal Security Chief has ordered that all police and security officials have to folow all the protocols of answering a phone call at all times.

However, the people associated with the security protocols were shocked to see that one could gain access to the high officials in the probe so easily with the calls which generally have an elaborate verification.

Investigation on the issue is going on and the Minister of State, Home, R P N Singh said a high lever probe will be held into the matter. Could the blasts have been done with the help of an inside hand?
