Former prime minister Deve Gowda has enough political following in Karnataka. And it looks like he's looking forward to moulding the same into votes. We all knew of padayatras in Andhra Pradesh, but padayatra in Karnataka politics is not a famous trend if not a familiar one. H D Deve Gowda is taking out a padayatra in Bengaluru today. There was a specific motive behind this one day walkathon. Deve Gowda showed novelty in his protest against the state government for not providing Kaveri drinking water to residents in Bengaluru.
In order to support his demand, Deve Gowda asked women to join the protest. The novelty part of the protest was that women took out walkathon with empty pots as a symbol to tell the government that they have been deprived of drinking water. Meanwhile, Deve Gowda has expressed his displeasure over Kaveri water being released to Tamil Nadu. Let us see whether Deve Gowda's protests can put him back in limelight among political circles.
