Demand for T: CPI stages protest at Indira Park

CPI, which has been backing the formation of Telangana state, is today staging a massive protest at Indira Park of Hyderabad in support of its demand. The party state secretary Narayana along with CPI MLAs and scores of supports of statehood for Telangana are taking part in the protest.  This deeksha, which started this morning, would continue until the evening wherein leaders from TRS, TDP and other joint action committee members would be taking part.

It has to be mentioned here that CPI supported the formation of Telangana state and reportedly demanded the same during the all party meeting. CPM state secretary Narayana hails from Rayalaseema region, which isn't a part of Telangana region yet he had been strongly advocating that Telangana should be carved out.  In fact, last week, speaking on the same demand, Narayana said that a majority of political parties, which took part in the all party meeting on December 28 have supported the bifurcation of the state and therefore he exuded confidence that state would be carved out soon.
