The forgotten national game, Hockey has been receiving little appreciation since cricket dominated the nation. However, the game remains to be going strong whenever there is a tournament. The National Women's Hockey Championship which is being hosted in Hyderabad for this year begun with grand celebrations today, a few minutes ago at the GMC Balayogi Stadium at Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy flagged of the event as he freed a dove symbolizing peace. Grand Celebrations at the venue were a treat to the eye. The celebrations promoted the folklore of the state, several colorful and traditional dances promoted unity in the nation. A variety of events entertained the large crowd that has attended the ceremony.
