Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was conducted in Tirumala today grandly. On the eve of Vaikunta Ekadasi, Tirumanjanam was conducted today. As per Tirumanjanam, the temple would be cleaned and purified with scents. Later special ritual was conducted wherein temple EO Subramanyam took part. A large number of TTD devotees showed interest to take part in the rituals. Starting from 6 am, Tirumanjanam took place till 11 am.

Therefore, not only darshan was closed during this time but even Astadala Padapadmaradhanamu (a weekly ritual on main deity) was cancelled today. After Tirumanjanam, devotees were allowed to seek blessings of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy from 12 pm. It has to be mentioned here that Tirumanjanam would be conducted on every Tuesday before any auspicious occasion such as Brahmotsavams, Ugadi etc.

Meanwhile, TTD has been making elaborate arrangements for ensuring that devotees face no inconvenience at Tirumala during December 22 and 23. Heavy rush on these days is expected on the eve of Vaikunta Ekadasi.
