A large number of people have thronged TTD Kalyana Mantapam in Himayatnagar of Hyderabad to purchase darshan tickets on Vaikunta Ekadasi. The doors leading to office were opened this morning by then there was already a big queue. The moments, doors were opened, devotees jostled among themselves to enter the hall, which lead to minor stampede. A few devotees were reportedly fainted due to jostling.
It may be noted that Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams said it would issue tickets for Vaikunta Ekadasi, which falls in third week of December. Since taking darshan of the deity during Vaikunta Ekadasi has been considered auspicious, it's common that people compete for purchasing tickets for darshan.
