Collective responsibility of cabinet on GO s issued: Ministers

Six ministers and bureaucrats who received the notices from the Supreme Court in connection with 26 controversial GO s, have stated that the Government Orders (GO s) during YSR regime were fair ones and  stressed that they didn't not violate any rules while issuing those government orders. Therefore, they said they cannot be held responsible for those GO s and said it was the collective responsibility of the then cabinet.

Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Geeta Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao and former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana filed affidavit in the Supreme Court on Monday stating the same. In their affidavit, ministers mentioned that those the entire cabinet discussed those GO s before they were released and therefore it would be a collective responsibility of the cabinet.

Further, ministers mentioned that those GO s were within the context of Andhra Pradesh Business Rules and Secretariat Instructions.  Those GO s were issued keeping in view the future of the industrial sector in Andhra Pradesh, mentioned the ministers in their affidavit.  It may be recalled that Supreme Court earlier sent notices to six ministers and eight IAS officers over these controversial government orders. And on Monday, six ministers and five IAS officers filed individual affidavits in the Supreme Court.
