Navy Day: India celebrates the Navy day today. The day is marked with rare feats displayed by the armed forces, followed by pompous celebrations. Indian Navy day is celebrated since 1971 when the Indian forces retaliated the Pakistani attack on the border posts by bombing Karachi harbour. 'Operation Trident' conducted by the Navy was succesful in controlling the enemy and the day is annually celebrated.
Celebrity Corner: Daisy Bopanna celebrates her birthday today. The glam doll from Bengaluru has acted in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The starlet debuted through Sweet Heart in Telugu. Wishesh wishes the actress a very happy and prosperous birthday.
History Amuses: As a child none would have missed the pleasure in reading comics. Remember the balloon, on top of the head of a character that speaks as to what goes on in the mind of the character. It used to amuse us and keep the story more interesting. Well this balloon was first designed and conceived, on this day in 1937. Officially The Dandy Comic of UK was the first to come up with this novel strategy. Kudos to Dandy which is one of the longest running comics in the world.
Tolly wood hot gossip: Vanished starlet from South emerges in Bollywood. Stunning many south Indian fans, Asha Saini aka Mayuri aka Flora Saini has been in the thick of happenings in the south with an illustrious debut in Tamil (Gajendra in 2004) and Telugu (Prema Kosam in 1999) but later she vanished from both the fields for some time. Off late she is again spotted in the tinsel world and the amazing point is, the Haryana beauty would be donning a role in the upcoming Salman Khan's Dabangg 2.
Entertainment: Commercial action thriller Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum has raked in moola at the ticket counter equally raking controversies in the political circles. The film that throws light on the Surabhi theatrical groups struggle as the main agenda has another hidden agenda too. It has extensively shown the nefarious methodology of the mining mafia. However a recent controversy that has sparked the fire is that the film was funded by the TDP to supress the raise of another party. But the Congress on the other hands seems to be scratching its back over the issue!
Tirupati: Visitors to the Balaji shrine is below normal today. Just six compartments were filled in the morning and the average darshan time is four hours. Nice time to be at the abode of the Lord Venkateswara. Gold Conch worth 30 lakhs was offered by the Sri Kanchi Kama Koti Peetadhipati Sree Jayendra Saraswati to the lord in the early hours of the day.
Padayatra: TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu in his Vastunna Mee Kosam, succesfully completed 1000 kms on the 63rd day, Monday. Mr Babu embarked on this massive walkathon on October 02 to seek public support to weed away corruption. He has covered 26 constituencies and walked through 430 villages in five districts. In today's padayatra the leader has strated from Jadijamalpur in Nizamabad distrcit.
On the other hand, YSR Congress party leader Sharmila on her 'Maro Praja Prasthanam would be treking in the Mahbubnagar district. The YSRCP leader will commence her walk from Dharmapuram village and reach JJ R Gardens in the town tonight, covering a stretch of over 13 kms for the day. Enroute she will be addressing many groups, along with the area leaders.
Guntur: Mild tremors in Guntur district. Various places in the district experienced mild tremors in the early hours of the day. However the minor tremors tensed the localites, but no untoward inciedent has been recorded.
