DKR controversy: Brahmin JAC meets home minister

Denikaina Ready controversy is still on as representatives from Brahmin communities are continuing to create tension. Brahmin Joint Action Committee today met the home minister Sabita Indra Reddy and urged that the screening of comedy flick Denikaina Ready be stopped with immediate effect. It may be noted that DKR, which has Vishnu in the lead, is an out and out comedy film that has been receiving overwhelming response from the public ever since its release.

The Brahmin community members, however, felt that a few scenes in the movie were derogatory to their community and hence attacked theatres and even the residence of Vishnu against the movie. Regarding the same Vishnu approached the State Human Rights Commission and lodged a complaint.SHRC, which received the complaint, directed the city commissioner of police to look into the issue and file a report by November 16. And today JAC representatives met the home minister.
