Botsa Satyanarayana, the congress leader, has been celebrating his daughter's lavish weddings with pomp and gaiety with high level of security of over 700 constables, 35 DSPs and 120 SHOs who were all stationed at the venue to ensure that there are no hiccups at the venue. The multi-crore wedding, which is also the mega-wedding of the year, comes after an “aam admi” promise from the Congress government.
Anusha, the bride, a medical student has been married to a realtor heir, Somi on Friday night. The wedding witnessed the who's who of the nation with several celebrities like Chiranjeevi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Pallam Raju, ESL Narasimhan, the governor, K Rosaiah and Karnataka governor HR Bharadwaj.
The wedding held at Vizia-nagaram in Visakapatnam had over 80,000 visitors as the guests were treated with extreme and exotic hospitality in five-star hotels that boast of being the priciest in the city. The cost of the dais (Rs 1 Crore) for the wedding alone would be sufficient for covering the expenditure of at least 5 more-than-decent weddings. Imported flowers from Singapore embellished the stage.
Andhra Pradesh has been battling extreme power crisis today while the leaders dance in the glorious lights with merriment while paying least attention to the profligate expenditures. EAS Sharma, Former Secretary of the Finance Ministry, was furious at the prodigal wedding which indicated an intolerable misuse of power and authority. He said, "Andhra Pradesh is facing sever power shortage. This violates all losses. PM spoke about austerity. Who is the aam admi in this government? They all believe in five-star culture. Small taxi operators were forced to cancel their previous appointments to facilitate the needs of this wedding, that too at very nominal rates."
