In a major breakthrough, Bangalore police busted four persons from Hyderabad for allegedly involving in an online scam and looting Rs. 15 crore. The main accused was Mohd Zahid Ali, a resident of Basheerbagh. The 37-year-old, who was a tech savvy, created a fake id in the name of Venkateshwar Rao and allegedly collected crores of rupees from several people in Bangalore.
After victims reportedly came to know that they were taken for a ride, they apparently approached the police. Subsequently, a case was registered against the miscreants at cyber cell of Bangalore. In a primary investigation, they traced the address to Ali and his three friends. It may be recalled that police, a few days back arrested Ali's three friends but then they were unable to arrest Ali. On Sunday, Bangalore police banned Ali and recovered a pen drive and laptop from him.
