A Techie from the city who was off to the US on a project was arrested on Monday as he landed in the airport. As per the reports Sai Kumar had been working in a city IT firm and was in love with his colleague. And he proposed to her which fell flat. Then he started blackmailing the lady with spam and abusive mails.
He also opened fake email ids and Facebook ids and created the maximum scar on her image. Based on the complaint of the victim, whose name is not disclosed CID division working on the Cyber crimes zeroed on the accused.
The police confirm that the techie had confessed and had been arrested under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act and sent for judicial remand. The CID sleuths gathered information of the accused and seized his laptop and mobile phone. The accused was using proxy servers to conceal his identity and the seized gadgets revealed the entire modus operandi. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
