CM to leave for Delhi today

Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is scheduled to leave for Delhi today to discuss various matters with the high command. If buzz is to be believed, CM would first discuss the resignation of Dharmana Prasada Rao for his ministry, which has been in the pipeline for quite sometime. The sources, however, said the main reason behind Kiran's tour was to elucidate the prime minister Manmohan Singh and union power minister Veerappa Moily on the acute power shortage in Andhra Pradesh. It is known that the government apparently invited the wrath of opposition parties and aam aadmis in the state due to continuous power cuts even in rainy season.

The political observers in the state have opined that Congress may not retain its power in 2014 given the opposition from large sections of people on power cuts. Notably, in many places of the state, there are over four hours of power cut while in the capital city Hyderabad alone, there's a power cut for about three hours. Also, the sources said that there could be a possible change in the chief minister in order to counter the opposition from people and political parties. In case, the same happens, will Congress make Chiranjeevi the chief minister? May be yes, indicated sources.
