Presidential poll is round the corner and there's apparently only one question among political circles. Whether YSRC, which is considered to be arch rival of Congress party, would support UPA backed Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential election. The sources said that YSRC supremo Jaganmohan Reddy prefers Pranab Mukherjee to PA Sangma, who has been strongly supported by BJP. This news might doubt certain political sections as to how Jagan can support Congress party. But, the sources said that there's a strong reason behind the same. Jagan reportedly kept in mind the large group of Muslim brethren who voted for him during by-polls and decided to support UPA's presidential candidate.

Also, it's known that Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi recently met the president Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchalguda Jail. The MIM chief asked YSRC chief to support Pranab Mukherjee. He then didn't denied the request of Owaisi although he said he kept this topic in pipeline and the party would decide on it later. So, far no official statement came from YSRC as to whose candidature it would support. Nonetheless, sources confirmed that it would be Pranab Mukherjee in order to maintain the secular approach of the party. In fact, earlier Jagan told the media that he would not support BJP led NDA at any cost.
