The AICC political observer in the state, Vayalar Ravi has exuded confidence that Congress party would draw a couple of seats in the upcoming by-polls. He has also made it clear that elections are not referendum at all. Vayalar, who spoke to the media on Monday at the party office-Gandhi Bhavan, said he would be in Delhi on Tuesday on account of Parliament sessions.
Vayalar Ravi has said that he would visit the state on May 24 to take part in the by-election campaign. Also, he said the situation among Congress leaders improved. The leaders are now confident and excited, he added.
Talking on the areas where Jagan has strong hold, Vayalar Ravi has said that only in few constituencies Jagan has a hold and said they were trying to sweep votes in those constituencies too. Responding to a question on MPs threat that they would resign if Centre doesn’t take a decision on bifurcation, Vayalar Ravi has said that the Centre had been talking to the MPs and the decision has to be taken by the Centre only.
Making things clear about ministers attending CBI inquiry, Vayalar stressed there would be no problem to the Government if minister attend CBI inquiry. We have to wait and see whether Vayalar Ravi’s new strategy for by-polls—three times election campaign in a day-would turn fruitful to the party! (Phani)
