The CPI state secretary Narayana has demanded the government to seize the occupied land in Tallavalasa of Srikakulam-which was allotted in the name of a freedom fighter-and distribute it among the poor persons in the district. Narayana has alleged that this land was being under the control of minister Dharama Prasada Rao.
The land, which is 9.39 acres, is worth Rs. One crore. Narayana was in Tallavalasa on Saturday to observe the alleged occupied land, which is beside the highway. He later addressed the media and demanded the government that the lands should be handed over to the poor persons immediately. (Phani)
