Don’t take political advantage of suicides: Kiran

Hinting that the Centre will soon take a decision on the issue of Telangana, Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy asked political parties not to take political advantage of the suicides in Telangana.

Responding to the demand of TRS members to make a statement in the assembly on suicides in Telangana, Kiran said that all suicides taking place in Telangana should not be linked to Telangana. “There could be several reasons for suicides,” he told journalists informally in his chambers today.

Appealing to the Telangana youth and students not to resort to suicides, Kirankumar said the suicides are not the result of statements of politicians. “The government is also ready to make a statement on suicides if all parties seek such a statement but there is no guarantee that suicides will stop with a statement,” Kiran observed.

Disclosing the party high command spoke with him once on Telangana issue, the Chief Minister said that the Centre would soon take a decision on the Telangana imbroglio.

Responding to reports that T congress MPs had lodged a complaint against him with the high command, Kirankumar said such things are common in the congress party which has more inner democracy than any other party. (J)
