Bandh partial in state, CPI Narayana arrested

The one day bandh organized by major trade unions protesting against what they called the Government’s anti labor policies across India today affected normal life partially in the state.

Left parties conducted protest rallies and demonstrations in several towns in the state and raised slogans against the anti people and anti labor polices of the government.

In Hyderabad, normal life was partially crippled with most of the government offices, public sector undertakings and private companies remaining closed. However, RTC ran its services and public transport system in the state capital was not affected.

Police arrested CPI State Secretary K. Narayana after he led a demonstration with hundreds of activists and workers in the city opposing the government policies. The bandh was supported by TDP and TRS.

Banks in the city provided only Skelton services while hotels, cinema halls and other commercial establishments functioned normally. (JUBS)
