The issue of de-notification of lands at Ameerpet in Hyderabad is still haunting the former Chief Minister and TN Governor K. Rosaiah like a ghost.
It has become doubtful whether he will continue in the gubernatorial post in Chennai with the Telangana Advocates Association sending concrete evidence against him containing statements of two IAS officers and other evidences to the President and Prime Minister demanding his immediate recall.
Senior IAS officials B.P. Acharya and T. Sanyasi Appa Rao told the court in their deposition a few days ago that they have objected to the de-notification of the Ameerpet land.
Rosaiah has been facing a case of cheating and corruption in the ACB court with regard to his decision to de-notify a prime land of 9.14 acres worth hundreds of crores at Ameepet during his regime as CM.
ACB had earlier given a clean chit to Rosaiah in the case leading to the dismissal of the case by the ACBI court. It paved the way for his appointment as TN Governor by the Centre. But the advocate Mr Sri Ranga Rao who originally filed the case against him went to the ACB court again saying the ACB’s decision in giving a clean chit to him was politically motivated as it didn’t take the statement of the IAS officials into consideration. The court then heard the two IAS officers.
Counsel for Sri Ranga Rao told the court that, as per the recent judgment of the SC in the 2G scam, there is no need for permission to prosecute public servants if they had taken decisions with mala fide intention and the judgment is applicable to Rosaiah.
The ACB court adjourned further hearing of the case till March 2. (JUBS)
