The CBI, probing the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan reddy, submitted crucial evidence to the Supreme Court on Monday proving the involvement of the suspended IAS officer Sri Lakshmi in the case.
Additional solicitor-general Vivek Tankha raised the issue when the bail petition of Sri Lakshmi came up for hearing. He told the division bench consisting of Justices H.L. Dattu and C.K. Prasad that CBI has filed concrete evidence in a sealed cover.
“Crucial evidence proving the involvement of Srilakshmi is before the bench in a sealed cover,” he told the bench.
Meanwhile, Srilakshmi filed a fresh plea for bail after the SC rejected her first bail application. (JUBS)
