Special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad today adjourned till tomorrow hearing on the CBI petition seeking custody of the illegal mining scam accused Y. Srilakshmi and Rajagopal.
The CBI filed the petition saying the duo also played a role in the illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and needed to be grilled.
Srilakshmi, a suspended IAS officer and Rajagopal, former director of the Mining Department, have been already arrested in the illegal mining scam involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy and presently lodged in the Chanchalguda jail.
CBI sought the court permission to question them in Jagan properties case after it had established that both of them granted favours to Penna Cements and Dalmia Cements which in turn invested in the companies owed by Jagan.
The special court will take up further hearing of the petition after the counsel for the accused submits his affidavit tomorrow. (JUBS)
