Mr Manoj Kumar, owner of the Vaibhav Jewelers in Visakhapatnam and a close relative of Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah was kidnapped last night in Bangalore.

Bangalore Southeast zone DCP Mr Ravikanth Gowda told journalists in Bangalore today Mr Manoj kumar was kidnapped last night while on his way to airport in the city in a private cab. “We came to know Manoj was carrying diamonds and jewelry worth Rs.3 Cr with him,” he said adding that two special teams are on the job of locating the kidnapped diamond trader.

Reports said that Manoj Kumar landed in Bangalore from Jaipur after purchasing diamonds and gold jewelry. After finishing his business in the city, he took a cab to the airport but he never reached the airport.

When he failed to return home in Visakhapatnam, employees of Vaibhav Jewelers and family members contacted the Karnataka police and lodged a complaint. The police later came to know he was closely related to Rosaiah. This bit of information is enough for the Bangalore police to speed up investigation into the case. (JUBS)
