CBI Joint Director Mr Lakshminarayana today asked journalists not to write speculative stories on the process of investigation being carried out by his officials into various scams in the state.
Addressing media persons at the Secretariat after meeting the Chief Secretary and submitting a report on the arrest of IAS officer BP Acharya, he said a section of the media has been carrying wrong reports about the intentions of CBI.
Indirectly referring to the letter written by the Pulivendula MLA Mr YS Vijayamma to the PM ascribing motives to the CBI in investigating the illegal properties case involving her son Jagan, Lakshminarayana said the CBI has not targeted any one in the investigation.
“We are arresting people who are connected with the cases. We don’t have any personal motives against any one in any case,” he made it clear. “There is no need for us to target a particular individual,” he said.
It may be mentioned that Vijayamma wrote to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh accusing the CBI of trying to corner her son Jagan and harass him in various cases. (JUBS)
