Sabitha warns of strict action against Ambedkar statue destroyers

Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said today the officials have already collected some evidences against the people responsible for the demolition of Ambedkar statues at Amalapuram and Dhavaleswaram in the East Godavari district in the last few days.
She said stringent action would be taken against the culprits responsible for the destruction of the statues after the group of the ministers submits its report.
The home minister was speaking to media persons at the Hyderabad International airport before emplaning for Tirupati along with her family members.
“While the destruction of statues in and around Amalapuram is being probed by the Additional DG, the Dhavaleswaram incident is under probe by Additional SP and the culprits, whoever they are, will be brought to justice,” warned the home minister.
Group of ministers in Amalapuram
The group of ministers led by the assembly deputy speaker Mr Bhatti Vikramarka left for Amalapuram this morning from Hyderabad to find out the facts involving the destruction of the Ambedkar statues.
Ministers D. Manikyavara Prasad and C. Ramachandraiah are the other members of the committee. (JUBS)
