Reiterating his party’s commitment to fight for the cause of farmers in the state, former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said today the congress party is bound to face defeat in the next elections.
Naidu said the farmers in the Nellore district suffered a loss of Rs.150 Cr due to rains and demanded a compensation of Rs. 20,000 per acre for commercial crops.
Speaking to reporters in Kavali during his Rytu Poru Bata in the Nellore district, Naidu said the government must come forward to help the farmers financially. Naidu also met several farmers affected by the unseasonal rains in the district.
Reminding the government of its responsibility to come to the aid of farmers who lost their crops and suffered heavy losses in the recent rains, Naidu asked the farmers not to lose heart. “In the next elections, TDP will come to power and all your needs will be taken care of,” he told the aggrieved farmers.
He exhorted the TDP workers to be united in their fight against the congress party. “You must all be united in your fight against the congress party and no group politics would be tolerated,” he warned the party leaders and workers. (JUBS)
