Vijay Sai seeks special status in Jail

The special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad today adjourned to Jan 17 hearing on the petition filed by Mr Vijay Sai reddy seeking special A category status in the Chanchalguda jail where he has been lodged.

Vijay Sai is accused number 2 in the illegal mining case involving the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy.

The special economic offences court at Nampally on Tuesday ordered CBI custody for Vijay Sai till Jan 17. Daily, the CBI officials are bringing him to their makeshift office at Dilkusha guest house and grilling him on his role in manipulating huge bribes as investments into Jagan-owned companies.

The court also adjourned till Jan 23 hearing on the bail petitions filed by the accused in the illegal mining scam Mr Gali Janardhan reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivasa reddy.

This is fifth time they have filed bail petitions after their arrest in the illegal mining case. The court had earlier dismissed their bail petitions four times. (JUBS)
