At last, stage is set for the induction of the PRP MLAs into the state cabinet. Reports said PRP senior leaders Ganta Srinivasa rao and C. Ramachandraiah will be inducted into the state cabinet on Jan 17.
Despite objections from the Kadapa district congress leaders, Ramachandraiah will make it to the Cabinet as Union Minister and in-charge of the AP congress affairs Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad had already cleared his name. They will be given prominent portfolios.
Azad asked Chiranjeevi to select a date for their induction and the latter reportedly chose Jan 17. Even if there is any postponement for any important reasons in the last minute, their joining the Cabinet would not be delayed beyond Jan 20 under any circumstances, according to reports.
Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy, who had earlier expressed objections to the induction of the PRP members at this juncture, had to obey the instructions of the party high command on the issue. He has finally agreed for the induction.
Sources said Azad also pushed for the early induction of PRP members into the Cabinet and all objections of Kirankumar reddy were overruled by him.
“Chiru wanted three berths for his men now but Azad convinced him with the intake of two members for the present,” said a senior leader, adding that some corporation posts and government whip posts are also likely to be allotted to the PRP leaders. (JUBS)
