Even as the memories of the hooch tragedy in the Lambadi colonies near Mylavaram in Krishna district in which 17 persons died of consuming spurious liquor are still haunting, another hooch tragedy was reported today from the same Myalavaram Mandalam.

Reports said 14 persons have taken seriously ill after consuming spurious liquor in Vedurubeedam village and the villagers have immediately taken them to hospitals.

On hearing the news, senior excise and police officials have rushed to the village and are reviewing the situation. (JUBS)
