Repeating his allegations against the Home Minister Sabitha Indra reddy, textiles minister Sankara rao asserted that those who attacked him with eggs, stones and tomatoes at LB Nagar last week were her supporters.

“The police have arrested those who were not connected with the attack and released them,” the minister told journalists in his chamber at the secretariat today.

With the journalists sitting on the floor in his chambers handicapped by the lack of furniture, the Minister sat of the floor and addressed the media. Last week also, the minister conducted a review meeting sitting on the floor forcing the chief minister to order his officials to buy furniture for the minister’s chambers immediately. But till date, the furniture has not arrived in his chambers.

Sankara rao threatened to approach the state human rights commission (HRC) to get the attackers booked if police takes no action against them. “Police have unnecessarily harassed innocent people for the attack on me. But I must tell you the high Command has been observing the goings on in the state and I am confident the CM will do justice in the case.

“The real perpetrators of the attack must be punished, “he demanded. (JUBS)
