Delhi police have received an anonymous letter threatening to inject anti-corruption crusader and Gandhian Anna Hazare and his team with HIV positive needles.

The letter said the team was ready with a set of 500 HIV Positive needles and would inject them to not less than 1000 demonstrators if they continued with the demand for a stronger Lok Pal bill.

The Delhi police filed an FIR in no time and have launched a manhunt for the sender of the letter. “We have taken the issue seriously and booked FIR under sections-505 (2) (statements conducting to public mischief), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of the IPC,” said a senior police officer.

The officer said this could be a hoax but they have decided not to take any chances sine the issue was related to the Gandhian Anna Hazare who has already been facing a threat to his life.

The letter, which says that 50 trained persons were getting ready to inject the needles, was suspected to have been posted from a Delhi locality. (JUBS)
