Fans offer special prayers on Rajani’s b’day

Superstar Rajanikanth, who has turned a care of address for unique and innovative styles and mannerisms in acting through his films, today turned 62 and his fans launched various welfare activities to mark his birthday.

Simultaneously, his fans and well wishers offered special prayers across Tamil Nadu and at some places in AP, Karnataka and Kerala seeking good health for him. Rajani recently underwent treatment in a Singapore hospital for a kidney ailment and is said to be retreating at an undisclosed location in Tamil Nadu at the moment.

Radio and TV channels in the southern states carried special programmes on the superstar on account of his birthday.

Originally known as Sivaji Rao Gaekwad, Rajani started life as a bus conductor in Karnataka and rose to the high pedestals of movie industry in the south. He was a discovery of the veteran director and Dadasaheb Phalke award recipient K Balachander.
