Reviving the Telangana agitation, the JACs of the Osmania University and Telangana Students today gave a call for the closure of all educational institutions across the Telangana region on Dec 8.
Speaking to media persons at the OU campus after a meeting, the JACs leaders Pidamarthy Ravi and Rajaram Yadav said they have decided to strengthen the Telangana agitation. “The educational bandh on Dec 8 is only part of the efforts to re-launch the T stir. It will apply pressure on the central government,” they said.
They demanded the Centre to introduce the Telangana bill in the present session of the parliament and asked the T congress MLAs to vote for the no-confidence motion in the assembly to bring down the Kirankumar government for its failure to convince the Congress leadership and the Centre to solve the T issue.
They also announced a 20-day cycle yatra from Dec 20 across the T region to put further pressure on the Congress leadership to take a decision in favour of Telangana state. “The Yatra will begin from the Arts College and culminate in a public meeting on Jan 10 at the Kakathiya University at Warangal,” they said.
The student leaders announced support to the proposed fast unto death by former DSP Ms Nalini in Delhi on Dec 9. (JUBS)
