TRS women’s wing today took out a rally in Hyderabad demanding introduction of the Telangana bill in the present session of the Parliament.
The rally, organized on the occasion of the second anniversary of the indefinite fast undertaken by the TRS chief KCR seeking separate Telangana state, turned tense as police tried to stop the rally as the activists had no permission.
The women members of the TRS first assembled at the Telangana martyrs memorial opposite the assembly under the leadership of the women’s wing president Ms T. Uma. After paying tributes to the memorial, they tried to take out the rally till Lal Bahadur Stadium.
As the women activists began the rally raising slogans in favour of Telangana and demanding the introduction of the T bill in winter session of parliament, police stopped them resulting in tension.
The TRS women argued with police and asked them not to stop the rally. “The Centre must introduce T bill in the present session or else the Government will be held responsible if the agitation turns violent,” Uma warned.
Police however arrested the TRS women and released them later. (JUBS)
